Farm2People began in 2020 as a grassroots, volunteer operated effort. In our first year, we crowdsourced $30,000 and used it to purchase produce and grain from farmers who had lost critical sales. We then donated that prime nutrition to nonprofits and CBOs in Los Angeles. And Farm2People was born.

In 2021, Farm2People continued as 100% volunteer operated while fiscally sponsored by Alma Backyard Farms. We doubled our donated revenue and doubled our efforts, refining our general programmatic process.

In 2022, Farm2People grew as a volunteer led and run organization, earning our own 501(c)3 designation. With over 50 farms supported with sales, we surpassed our 500,000 lbs delivered milestone!

In 2023, Farm2People hired its first staff member, built our first Board of Directors and expanded services into Orange County. We added more farms to our network, served another 200,00 lbs of food and hit another milestone: 4 million nutritious servings served to food insecure families! Check out our 2023 Annual Report here.
